Carefully read all materials regarding the program in which you are interested, the application instructions, and the required materials. Send all application materials to the correct offices.

• Apply to Georgia State University. This application is available through the Office of Admissions, online at www.gsu.edu/prospective_students.html or by calling 404-413-2500. To ensure prompt processing, submit your application materials and request all additional items, such as recommendations and transcripts, well before the application deadline. No application will be reviewed until all application materials are complete. Applications that are incomplete at the deadline will be deferred for consideration until another semester.


• Complete the School of Music application at least 4 weeks prior to your desired audition date. This application is found on the School of Music website at www.music.gsu.edu/forms/application.aspx


• Complete the School of Music audition. You will receive an invitation to audition approximately three weeks before the audition date you selected on your application. All programs require an audition for admission.

• Take placement exams in piano and music theory (piano placement is required only for those with prior piano experience). Placement exams are given on audition days and before the start of each term. Transfer exams are given separately, each semester before the start of classes.
