> Performance and Ensembles

- University Brass Ensemble - composed of brass and percussion students,
with smaller chamber groups selected from the large ensemble.
Each year, the Ensemble hosts BrassFest, a weekend of brass
music, guest artists and masterclasses.

- University Singers - the School of Music’s premier vocal ensemble. Selected by competitive audition, the choir is comprised of both music majors and non-majors, undergraduate and graduate students while representing the diverse population of Georgia State University. The ensemble’s annual performances have included appearances before the Georgia Music Educators Association, American Choral Directors Association and at the Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards. The Singers’ tours have taken them throughout much of the United States, including Carnegie Hall on two occasions, and six international tours with stops in France, Belgium, Italy, Yugoslavia, Finland, Russian, Estonia, Canada and Great Britain.
- Men's Chorus - open to all Georgia State University students, this ensemble provides an exciting choral experience, from folk songs to serious choral works written for male voices.
- Women's Chorus - open to all Georgia State University students, the chorus performs concerts of diverse literature written for women's voices.

- Jazz Band and Combos - providing performance and masterclass/clinic
opportunities with jazz artists of regional, national and international
stature.
- neoPhonia New Music Ensemble - a chamber ensemble
promoting the music of contemporary composers, chamber works
of the 20th/21st century and works by emerging young composers.
- University Opera Theater Workshop - provides opportunities for
students to learn and practice skills related to operatic performance
from the standard repertoire and contemporary works, culminating
in performances of operatic scenes and/or full productions.
- Harrower Summer Opera Workshop - a nationally recognized three-week
workshop featuring a staff of professional coaches and stage
directors and culminating in performances of operatic scenes
and/or operas.
- University Symphony Orchestra - an ensemble of 80 graduate and
undergraduate student players, presenting six to eight performances
each academic year. The Orchestra collaborates regularly with
distinguished guest artists, Georgia State University music
faculty and university choral ensembles.
- University Percussion Ensemble - performs a wide range of eclectic
music, all of which exhibits the influences of popular, folk
music and traditional percussion writing.
