Welcome!

All of what follows is graciously dedicated to my mother and father, Bill and Judy Gibson, without whose steadfast support I wouldn't be blessed to do what I do........and a very special acknowledgement is due Jim Kraft, who perhaps unwittingly changed my concept of music and redefined for me what it is to be a musician.

Welcome, that is, to trombonelessons.com first Interactive CD-ROM, the

"The Daily Routine

for the

Orchestral Trombonist"

©TSG Music, 2000

This CD will introduce you to a thorough and completely comprehensive Daily Routine. If done every day, this routine will leave you prepared for ANY musical challenge that may come your way. It is much more than a Warm-up. This is a sequence of musical exercises that encompasses every aspect of trombone performance. If you are presently preparing for the "audition circuit" or if you are in an ensemble where the utmost of professionalism is demanded, this Routine will empower you to be at your very best.

As an aspiring or even accomplished Orchestral Trombonist, you will be REQUIRED to be in peak form at all times. This Daily Routine is designed to help you do just that. It will alert you to the onset of bad habits, potentially sparing you weeks and months of frustration. It is designed to give you consistency in all facets of trombone performance. In doing this, you will notice an increase of confidence and a command over the instrument like you've never known. Undoubdtedly, the clarity of thought and purity of sound will be heard by your listeners. The cycle works something like this:

CORRECTNESS breeds CONSISTENCY breeds CONFIDENCE

It is a perpetual cycle.....

This concept was instilled in me by the wonderful Buddy Baker and truer words I've never known.

The aim of this Daily Routine, then, is to build correctness.

While first learning this Routine, you can expect at least one hour each day for the complete program. Once you become familiar with the Routine, however, you should be able to complete it in 35-45 minutes. This will be the best-spent 35-45 minutes of your musical day!

The CD is designed to be used in conjunction with our website, trombonelessons.com
